7-11-12: Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie, OI OI OI & Rick Rack Tutorial

This is the sketch posted at Let's Scrap this week.  Remember you have a week to complete the challenge and stand in line to win a fantastic prize.

This layout I created at the OARA Crop day 2 weeks ago.  Photos taken on our way to celebrate our very first AUSTRALIA DAY.. I took the main photo out the car window as the sun was rising and our flag was flying off our car..

Close ups of layout:

On the day I didn't have any matching red Rick Rack with me, so using Cardstock, I decided to create my own:

TUTORIAL TO CREATE YOUR OWN RICK RACK FROM CARDSTOCK

Step 1:  Using scallop scissors (you can use a border punch for this as well), cut your strip of paper along one edge

Step 2:  Turn your paper around to cut from the other side now, and cut again but line it up so that you cut about 2-3mm away from the previous scallop.  Line it us so that your circle is in the middle of the inverted circle.  This will give you the pattern.

Step 3:  Voila.. instant Rick Rack to use on your pages and the best part.. the color matches perfectly EVERY TIME !

Hope that inspired you to go and make more interesting goodies with your cardstock !

Thanks for looking

Hugs, Mich
