Layout Share: Bear Hugs / Christmas Eve

I finally got around to doing a few singles for my albums.

First one is one of the M&M Retreat 2012 kits designed by Nutty M.. Love these colors and these photos of Kerr were perfect for it.

My second layout was inspired by a recent layout posted by Roulien Stahnke.  I just loved the circle idea.  It came out rather fun.  Used SIMPLE STORIES range of papers:

Thanks for looking.

I am finally ONLINE... Yay

It has been too long, but I am finally online ... Amazing how we come to rely on the internet so much for our day to day ...

It feels like I have been cut off from the rest of the world.  LOL.

I did however get some scrapping done instead of just sitting in front of my PC all day.

These are from M&M Scrapbooking Adventures Kit Club layouts that I finally got around to doing:

Layout has a pocket for brochures and a booklet on the right for tons more photos..

This was a kit for our weekend retreat.  Love how it came out.. Thanks Nutty M !!

Well off to play some more.. Hugs, Mich

STUDIO NOW OPEN FOR CLASSES

Hi  girls..

I am so excited to be back !

The big unpack is finally all done and dusted (ok.. maybe not so dusted LOL, not having a domestic worker is hard)..  But finally my room is all unpacked and neat and tidy and ready for classes again!

I am so excited to show you all my new “studio” that you can come and play in

I have decided to start classes from this Saturday the 10th of November 2012.   For the months of November and December there will not be any set layouts.  I have 100’s of new layouts created while I was in Australia, and you can choose from any of these to scrap.  Or, you are most welcome to just come and crop with my assistance.

Please note that my studio can only take a max of 6 girls, so first booked, first confirmed (minimum of 3 girls to run a class).

Classes are R80 / lesson and R50 / crop. (incl tea/coffee)

PLEASE PHONE ME ON 084-474-1685 to book the classes.
Am not on email all the time.

Classes will run:
Tuesday evenings:   6pm – 9pm
Friday morning :  9am – 12am
Even 2nd Saturday morning :  9am – 12am

Class Dates for Nov:
Tue: 13, 20, 27
Fri: 16, 23, 30
Sat:  10, 24

Please remember that although I have some papers, etc for sale to help you with your pages,  I am not stocked as a shop, so please bring your own papers, etc to scrap with.  This is a great way to use up all that stash you have gathering dust !  LOL...  I will be stocking up on basics as I go along but unfortunately sold most of my goodies when we moved last year.

Please remember that there are two great scrapbook shops nearby (Die Bonsai Huisie (Kdp) and Scrapbook and Things (Florida)) to get all your scrapbooking stash from.  However, if you do need me to obtain anything for you, please shout and I can do so with pleasure.

I hope to see you all soon at class !  I have really missed teaching and hope to share some of the new techniques and some of my new toys with you all !

Big hugs,
Michelle

UPDATE: THE BIG MOVE

In August 2012 we were told that we had to return to South Africa.. this was rather traumatic as we had just settled into our awesome little house and the way of life in Australia.  However, we had no choice, so we packed up and off we went..

These photos are the day that the packers came with the container to pack the goodies for shipment to South Africa.  Let it just be said that I NEVER want to move again in my life.. even having someone else pack up all your stuff is still so much work !  Eeeek...  (They used huge rolls of paper to wrap stuff in.. check out Klaven ! LOL).  They couldn’t even get the container door closed we had so much stuff.. Hee hee.. (gotta love shopping at IKEA!!)

Once we arrived back in SA we went about finding a new house to rent.  We found the most amazing house in Rangeview.. and it has the most amazing studio for my classes.  It has these fantastic views over the valley, so we sit on the balcony most nights and look out over the minions!  LOL

While we were waiting for our container to arrive, we adopted the cutest dog from the Wet Nose Society.. his name is Jack.  He is so full of character and I can promise you will see in him in lots of scrapbook pages soon.  He loves his tyre and has adopted Klaven as his Human.. they are insperable.

The big day finally arrived.. I stood on the balcony and took photos of the truck as it finally came down the road.  (the perks of being on the top of the hill, you can see who is coming and going).  They broke the seal of the container in front of us and started the huge unpack.  Oh dear.. I struggled to fit everything into the house.. so much stuff!   (where did it all come from..LOL)

The garage was so full of packing boxes and debris we couldn’t park the cars for a good week !

The end result after a week of unpacking and dusting !  Wow.. cannot believe how much dust gathers here..

My new “baby”.. my Scrapping Studio (before and after pics).. all set up with my new IKEA furniture and the awesome view over the valley.. now to get you girls to concentrate on scrapping and not starting at the view. Hee hee..

My dining room area.  It has a built in braai in the house.. is fantastic !  You never need to braai in the rain again !

Neville’s baby:  His pool table and “MAN CAVE”.. in the middle of the house.. this house just lends itself to entertaining.

My Lounge area.. So cozy and nice to just park on the couches and relax at the end of the day.. Love how it turned out !

My bedroom.. This is my second favourite room in my house.. love how soft and cozy it turned out.. cannot wait to jump into bed at night (NO... not only for THAT reason.. hee heee).

Here are some other views of the house.. entrance hall, kids room, kitchen, etc.

We are finally settled and I cannot wait to get my classes started again!

Thanks for all the support over facebook and emails.. without all my friends and family, this whole adventure would have been so much harder !

Hugs, Mich

SCRAPPING / MY "LIFE" UPDATE

Hi there everyone..

as you might know by now,  the past month and a bit has been really hectic for me, we have packed up our entire house in Melbourne and are having it shipped back home to South Africa.. So sorry for the delay in posting any pics on my blog, but with interrupted access to the internet and being chaotically busy with other goodies, unfortunately my blog did take a bit of a back seat..

The following layouts have been created lately using the newest Let's Scrap sketches.

This is the sketch from this week.. you can see the sketch and more layouts HERE at Let's Scrap.

I used paper from Scrap Collections INDIGO collection:

Close ups:

The second is a card I created for a very good friend, who's birthday it was a week before we departed Australia, so it was a birthday / farewell card.. This sketch was posted last week at Let's Scrap

This layout is one of my favorites.  I loved the Let's Scrap sketch that we had to work with and the layout just fell into place.

This layout was about a Photo shoot that we went on with FOTR (Friends of the Rail). They invite budding photographers to come and take photos of the old steam trains early in the morning, and dress up in old clothes and blow tons of steam.. so pretty.. Was a cold morning and very full of photographers, but I managed to get a few good shots in.
I researched the history of this train and added that to the layout as well.

Closeups of the layout and elements used:

Final layout that I have created recently was a Lets Scrap sketch from 3 weeks ago.  Using Echo Park Oh Boy papers..

Hope you have enjoyed looking and any comments are as always, most welcome..

Hugs, Mich

8-22-12 KEI MOUTH

Kei Mouth is a quaint little village in the Eastern Cape with not a lot happening.  They have a huge ferry service that runs and we found this amazing stretch of sand with a this old log, so stopped to take some photos.

This weeks sketch at Let's Scrap just worked perfectly for these photos.

I used Papers from KAISERCRAFT's Check In collection.  This range is so amazing and works well with most of my travel pics.

The sponsor this week at Let's Scrap is amazingly enough from the Eastern Cape too..SCRAPBOOK STUDIO - so my layout seemed very apt this week.  LOL.
