Wow, can you believe it is only 1 month to go to CAMP CROP.

Nutty M and I are so excited.. we cannot wait to get going. The stock all arrived safely from the States and Australia, our kits are packed, notes are done, layouts look gorgeous. Sponsors have been sourced from all over, gifts and prizes are all packed and ready to go.

The girls are in for an amazing weekend. They will be spoiled rotten, treated like real troopers and will be totally scrapped out by the time they leave on the Monday.

Here are some sneak peeks of 2 of our awesome projects for the weekend.

We are fully booked for this retreat but remember that our next one is scheduled for 5-8 August 2011. So remember to book early (www.mandmscrapbookingadventures.blogspot.com for updates). Contact info@thevillagescrapper.co.za to book your spot.

We have packed extra kits and will be selling these AFTER our retreat. Watch this space for more info.

The third week of every month, the sketch over at Let's Scrap is a Card one. Debby outdone herself this week with this beautiful sketch.

I am on a drive to use up as many of my scraps and stash as possible... so I created 2 cards, using only scraps that I had lying around (even the base of the cards were scraps).. am very proud of myself.. LOL

This layout used left over Kaisercraft paper from the 2009 Scrapbook Expo. Was such a pretty range of papers and we got all the "goodies" to go with (i.e. the flower applique).

I loved the sketch so much that I decided to do another card. This one uses left over paper that I had from the PRIMA range of Road Trip papers (using these for our March weekend retreat).

I also had left over rubon's from the Scrapbooking Extravaganza at Scrapbooking at Aquilla which was held last October. They showed us how to use rubons in a circle (it was actually a straight line of stitching..)..

OK.. mine didn't come out exactly round.. but the effect is there.. hee hee..

And.. every card needs an inner.. nothing more boring than a plain inside of a card.. so I added another little "man" to my card..

Thanks for looking !

LET'S SCRAP - 9 FEB 2011

The sketch this week on Let's Scrap was a really fun one.

This was based off an original layout by Louise Smith.

I really like how she cut up her photo on the top left.

I didn't have enough photos to do a double so only managed to complete a single this week. Using the left side of the sketch.

Photos are of my son Klaven. He just loves the call of the ocean and often finds himself a nice rock to stand on and just stare out. I managed to get these cool photos of him on one of his "reflective" states.. LOL

Close ups. I used FAB SCRAPS papers on my layout:

Am really trying to hand journal on all my pages.. just adds a little bit of yourself to the layout.

I have joined the "100 Layouts in 2011" challenge at LETS SCRAP.
Feel up to it? Then hop on over and join us... Every page you create counts towards it. I have added a marker at the top of my blog to keep track of my layouts.. Doing well so far.
There is also a "SCRAP YOUR STASH" challenge running. This is a nice incentive to get all your old Stash scrapped. I have been doing very well with this so far.
Hope to see you there!

Resolution # 2 - My Daddy

Wow, I actually done it.. this is my FINAL challenge.. I managed to complete all 15 challenges on the BLOG HOP as well as Kathy's 2 challenges.. remember that you can win 17 prizes for the 17 challenges and if you DO THEM ALL, you can win this super prize from COSMO CRICKET as well.. you have until the 14th of February still to enter.. so just jumping.. check here for all the details:

Resolution #2 - Kristin - I love a good color challenge. Use at least 3 of these colors (pink, white, light, dark and darker grey) on your layout and use one of the wonderful Let’s Scrap sketches from last year.

I created my layout using pink and shades of grey (for some reason my photos came out brown.. it is actually grey).. weird..

Photo of me and my daddy when I was about 6 months old.. about the only photo I have of me and my daddy.. I miss him..
Close ups of elements:

Not my normal kind of layout, I used some elements we created at a Charity Scrap Day. Using up all my stash for these challenges... didn't use anything new on this layout except for the background cardstock.. all elements and papers were scraps lying around.

Resolution # 13 - Happy Birthday

Resolution #13 - Dawn - Cardstock only challenge

For this challenge, I made a card using only scraps. I ran the pieces through my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.

Close up of inside of card:

This is going to a friend at work, it is her birthday on 1 March...

Lets Scrap - Sketch 2 February 2010

This is the sketch that we were given to create a layout for the LETS SCRAP Design Team entry.

We were given the left side of the sketch to work with.

The full sketch is now available, however I didn't have enough photos to complete a double, so I just done the left hand side.

This is my son Klaven, he normally lets me take as many photos as I want, but on this particular day and about 300 photos later, he eventually had enough !! LOL

I need to dig out my photos and see if I have enough to finish the right side too... I used BO BUNNY learning curve papers for this layout.

Hugs, Mich
