8-22-12 KEI MOUTH

Kei Mouth is a quaint little village in the Eastern Cape with not a lot happening.  They have a huge ferry service that runs and we found this amazing stretch of sand with a this old log, so stopped to take some photos.

This weeks sketch at Let's Scrap just worked perfectly for these photos.

I used Papers from KAISERCRAFT's Check In collection.  This range is so amazing and works well with most of my travel pics.

The sponsor this week at Let's Scrap is amazingly enough from the Eastern Cape too..SCRAPBOOK STUDIO - so my layout seemed very apt this week.  LOL.

Layout Share: NOEL

I had some free time yesterday so created this layout using a kit by Juliette Corbellari.  I love kits as they make life so easy.. no thinking required.  This one really came out so fun and there are so many fun elements to look at..

It is a Christmas page so I used photos from our Midmas (Christmas in July) from 2 years back.  Was a fun one and I was glad to get a chance to scrap the photos finally.

Papers were all by Bo Bunny.

There is a lot of "detail" to this layout.. here are some closeup shots for you to see.  I even pulled out my Glitter pen and "blinged" up the page.. LOL

Challenge 142: Advertise Here

Annie posted the bi-weekly Challenge at Let's Scrap this week.

We are to take this advert by Graphic 45, using it for inspiration and interpret it as we wish and using a Lets Scrap sketch, create out own layout.

Using Sketch 1-4-12 from Let's Scrap, this is my layout I created.

I was inspired by the Vintage Lady and the clocks and the word TIMELESS.

I had these photos of me taken when I was 19 years old.  My sister had a 17th Century French ball for her Anniversary and we all had to dress up in the era.  I just loved these two photos.  I don't have the  negatives and the photos have taken a bit of wear and tear over the years, so thought this would be a good time to finally use them.  (sure wish I still had cleavage like that..LOL)..

Do the Easter Boogie

I had to many photos to recreate the layout by M&M Kit Club, so used the papers I received in a Kit and created another layout.   I used sketch 8-24-11 by Let's Scrap for inspiration.

The papers and elements are so fun to work with and were by Bella Blvd called Spring Flings and Easter Things.

These photos were taken last year Easter when we went to JOBEDI for the Easter break with the kids.  They had to first do the Easter Boogie, then search for their eggs and then decorate their eggs, before they were allowed to eat them.  When they were finished they wanted to do a Beer Hunt for the dads.. LOL.

Lets Scrap 8-8-12 PLUS Dragonfly Tutorial

I created this layout at the recent retreat that I went on.  I just loved the sketch we had to work with as part of the DT at Let's Scrap and the layout came together perfectly.

This is this weeks sketch at Lets Scrap:

This is my layout that I created:

I created the dragonflies using a quick and easy technique.

DRAGONFLY TUTORIAL:

Step 1:  Punch out a flower using either a Daisy punch or the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Daisy

Step 2:  Chose 4 of the petals to create your "wings"

Step 3:  Cut them out

Step 4:   Create a body for your dragonfly from scrap papers that you have.

I freehand drew mine, but if you need a template, here is one below.
That is it.. so quick and easy !   Hope you are inspired to add some cute dragonflies to your layout.

I used half pearls to do a trail below my  dragonflies.

Enjoy !
